What is the difference between fixed-bias circuit & self-bias circuit?

A fixed-bias circuit maintains a constant voltage across the base-emitter junction of a bipolar transistor, ensuring that the transistor operates in its active region. A self-bias circuit, also known as a common-emitter ac amplifier, uses the collector current to provide the necessary base bias, eliminating the need for an external voltage source. This arrangement allows the circuit to automatically adjust the base current based on the input signal level.
