The two input terminals of an Operational Amplifier (Op-Amp) are referred to as Inverting Input (IN-) and Non-Inverting Input (IN+). These names originate from the polarity change of the input voltage applied at these terminals. The inverting terminal is connected to the inverting input stage, where the phase of the input signal is reversed (-180°). On the other hand, the non-inverting terminal is connected directly to the first differential stage, maintaining the same polarity as the input voltage.
