In connections of mcb, is it necessary that the incoming side supply should be connected at top side of mcb. Whether this has any effect in tripping of mcb in case of fault?

No, it is not necessary to connect the incoming side supply at the top side of the MCB (Miniature Circuit Breaker). However, the correct polarity should be maintained while connecting, as reversing the polarity can prevent the MCB from tripping in case of a fault.
