Voltage-controlled devices respond to changes in voltage, while current-controlled devices respond to changes in current. Voltage-controlled devices usually generate a specific output current based on the input voltage (e.g., voltage-controlled oscillators). In contrast, current-controlled devices generate a specific output voltage in response to the input current (e.g., transistors, operational amplifiers).
