An inverting amplifier is a type of operational amplifier (op-amp) circuit that amplifies the input signal and produces an output with a phase reversal. In this configuration, the input is connected to the inverting input (-) through a feedback resistor (Rf), and the non-inverting input (+) is usually grounded. The gain of the inverting amplifier can be calculated as -Rf/Ri, where Ri is the resistance between the input and ground.
