A Step Down Cyclo-Converter (SDCC) is a power electronic converter that steps down AC voltage. It works by converting AC to DC, storing the energy in a capacitor, and then converting it back to AC at a lower voltage. SDCCs are used in applications such as UPS systems and motor drives.
