Multistage control involves dividing a single large power stage into multiple smaller stages to improve the overall performance and control of an AC voltage controller. This is typically achieved using pulse width modulation (PWM) and employing a feedback loop. A block diagram showing this arrangement would include multiple H-bridges, each controlling one stage, along with current sensors, power electronics switches, a PWM generator, and a control unit.
