Negative feedback in electronics is a type of feedback that tends to reduce the overall gain or amplification of a system, thereby stabilizing it. An example of negative feedback in an amplifier circuit can be achieved by adding a resistor between the output and input of the amplifier. Positive feedback, on the other hand, increases the overall gain of a system but may lead to instability. An example of positive feedback is using a portion of the amplified output signal to drive the input, as in certain types of oscillators.
