Drift Current (Jd) is the movement of charge carriers (electrons or holes) under an electric field in a semiconductor. It occurs due to the electromotive force generated by the concentration gradient of the charge carriers. The drift current can be calculated using Ohm's law: Jd = ρ * E, where ρ is the resistivity and E is the electric field strength.
