There are several types of electrical earthing, including: 1) TN-S (Separate Neutral and Earth): the neutral is isolated from earth in the service transformer; 2) TN-C-S (Combined Neutral and Earth with separate earth electrode): the neutral is connected to the earth at the main switchboard; 3) TN-C-T (Combined Neutral and Earth with combined earth electrode): the neutral and earth are connected together at the service entrance; 4) IT (Isolated Phase and Earth): each phase has its own earth electrode, and there is no connection between phases and earth.
