Why field rheostat is kept in minimum position while armature rheostat at maximum position?

In a DC motor, the field rheostat controls the strength of the magnetic field produced by the field coils, while the armature rheostat regulates the current flowing through the armature windings. By keeping the field rheostat in minimum position, the magnetic field remains strong, which allows for efficient operation at low speeds. On the other hand, setting the armature rheostat at maximum position increases the current flow, allowing the motor to reach higher speeds. Adjusting these controls can help achieve the desired speed and torque for a given application.
