Explain the difference between an electric motor and an electric generator?

Answer Posted / Sapna Gupta

An electric motor is a device that converts electrical energy into mechanical energy, while an electric generator is a device that converts mechanical energy into electrical energy. In other words, a motor receives electrical current and uses it to move a load, whereas a generator produces electrical current when a load (often a spinning shaft) is used to turn its rotor.
