Distinguish between the shear center and elastic center.
Answer Posted / Rajesh Tejan
"The shear center (S) is a point in a rigid body where torsional moments act without producing any rotation about that point. The elastic center (E) is a point in a deformable body where the couple produced by two forces would not cause any rotation of the body if the forces were applied at this point. In other words, the shear center is relevant for rigid bodies, while the elastic center is relevant for deformable bodies."n
