Why concrete barriers have curved surface profiles?

Answer Posted / Mithilesh Kumar Rao

Concrete barriers often have curved surface profiles to reduce the impact force in case of collisions, such as vehicle crashes. The curvature distributes the energy over a larger area and reduces the stress concentration on one point, thereby reducing damage and potential injury.
