To ensure that database connectivity does not degrade during migration from Microsoft SQL Server 2008 to SQL Azure, you should: (1) Use SQL Azure Migration Assistant (ASA) or Data Migration Service. (2) Check and update firewall rules in SQL Azure to allow traffic from the source database. (3) Test the connection before and after migration.
