What is the fundamental difference between a block chart and a mekko chart?

A Block Chart displays individual rectangles for each category, while a Mekko Chart (also known as a Stacked Bar Chart) stacks multiple categories within the same bar. The key difference is that in a Mekko Chart, negative values are shown below the zero line.
