Differentiate yarn count from fabric count.
Answer Posted / Srikant Choudhary
Yarn count refers to the linear density of a single strand of yarn, usually expressed in units such as neps per gram (np/g) or tex. On the other hand, fabric count is a measurement of the number of warp and weft threads per unit length and width in a woven fabric, often denoted by threads per inch (TPI) or ends per centimeter (E/cm) for the warp direction, and picks per inch (PPI) or picks per centimeter (P/cm) for the weft direction. Yarn count determines the thickness of individual yarns, while fabric count indicates the overall density and weight of the fabric.
