Is there an exemption for non-profit organizations from either the FLSA or the Department's overtime regulations governing white collar workers?
Answer Posted / Ravi Prakash Mourya
No, non-profit organizations are not exempt from the FLSA or the DOL's overtime regulations. However, certain provisions of the FLSA, such as the minimum wage and child labor laws, do not apply to employees of institutions primarily engaged in carrying out a religious creed or principal secular charitable or educational purposes.
