The three battles of Panipat were fought in 1526, 1556, and 1761. The first battle was between Babur (founder of Mughal Empire) and Ibrahim Lodi (Sultan of Delhi). The second battle was between Hemu (Afghan commander-in-chief) and the combined forces of Hindu Rajputs and Mughals under Akbar. The third battle was fought between Maratha forces led by Sadashivrao Bhau and the Afghan forces under Ahmad Shah Abdali.
