How is stopping and terminating an instance different from each other?
Answer Posted / Rakesh Garg
Stopping an EC2 instance temporarily shuts it down, preserving the instance state and any associated data. When you start the instance again, it will return to its previous state. Terminating an instance, on the other hand, permanently deletes the instance and all data associated with it. The only exception is when you have enabled EBS snapshots.
