Amazon S3 (Simple Storage Service) and Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) are two separate AWS services with different purposes. S3 is a scalable object storage service, while EC2 is a scalable compute service providing virtual servers. S3 stores data (objects), whereas EC2 runs applications (instances).
