How is a spot instance different from an on-demand instance or reserved instance?
Answer Posted / Sandeep Bhatnagar
A Spot Instance provides compute capacity at up to a significant discount compared to On-Demand instances. It uses unused EC2 capacity in the AWS cloud. In contrast, an On-Demand instance can be launched at any time without long-term commitments, while Reserved Instances provide a reservation of capacity for one or three years and offer more predictable pricing.
