Threshold Schemes are cryptographic protocols that enable a secret to be securely shared among a group of parties (called a threshold), such that the secret can only be reconstructed when a specified number of parties collaborate. Threshold schemes provide fault tolerance and security since even if some members are compromised or fail, the secret can still be reconstructed as long as the required threshold is met.
