To calibrate an Electro-Pneumatic Positioner like the 8013 Mil Controls Ltd. GSR, follow these general steps:
1. Install the positioner on a linear air source, such as an air tank with a regulator. Ensure that the operating pressure is within the manufacturer's recommended range.
2. Set the desired position of the valve using the handwheel or position indicator.
3. Connect an accurate air pressure gauge to the positioner's output port and set the pressure to zero.
4. Adjust the positioner's air supply pressure according to the manufacturer's instructions, usually by turning the supply pressure adjustment knob.
5. Move the valve to the desired position using the handwheel or position indicator, while simultaneously monitoring the pressure on the gauge.
6. Record the required air pressure for that specific position.
7. Repeat steps 4-6 for other positions as needed until the entire calibration range is covered.
8. Compare the recorded pressures with the manufacturer's recommended pressure settings for each position and make any necessary adjustments to the positioner to ensure proper operation.
