Can enyone tell me what is the young generation and old genaration in GC ? how it will work?

In the context of Genetic Algorithm (GA), young generations and old generations refer to consecutive sets of candidate solutions during the optimization process. The GA starts with an initial population (old generation) that is randomly generated. Then, new solutions are created by applying genetic operators such as crossover and mutation to form a new population (young generation). The fitness of the new population is evaluated, and the best individuals from both old and young generations are selected to form the next iteration's population.
