For web-based applications, the types of testing typically include functional testing to ensure that the application works as intended, usability testing to check the user interface and overall experience, performance testing to evaluate the speed and responsiveness of the application, security testing to protect against unauthorized access, and compatibility testing to ensure the application runs smoothly across various browsers and devices. In contrast, desktop applications may undergo similar functional and usability tests but might also include installer testing, system compatibility testing, and network connectivity testing.
