Stop-and-wait Automatic Repeat Request (ARQ) is a simple error control method where the sender waits for an acknowledgement (ACK) after each packet before sending the next one. If no ACK is received, the sender retransmits the lost packet. Go-back-N ARQ allows the sender to transmit multiple packets before waiting for ACKs, with a maximum of N packets outstanding. If a single packet is lost, the sender retransmits all packets from that point, up to N.
