What is the defination of job costing, batch costing and
contract costing?
Answer Posted / Satyendra Kumar Yadav
Job Costing: Job costing is a method used to determine the total cost of production for individual jobs or projects. It assigns direct materials, labor costs, and overhead costs to specific jobs to accurately track their profitability.
Batch Costing: Batch costing is similar to job costing but applies to products produced in batches rather than individually. The costs are allocated based on the number of units produced within each batch.
Contract Costing: Contract costing is used for long-term construction projects, service agreements, or other jobs with variable costs over an extended period. It assigns costs to a contract or project as they are incurred and allocates them based on the percentage of completion.
