FDI (Foreign Direct Investment) refers to a cross-border investment in which a foreign investor acquires a controlling ownership stake (more than 50%) in an enterprise operating in another country. FPI (Foreign Portfolio Investment), on the other hand, is a type of investment where a foreign investor purchases financial assets like stocks and bonds without acquiring control over the company.
