If you have a fuel valve with a pressure applied, what is
the stress to the open and closed valve?
Answer Posted / Bharat Kumar Rajak
The stress in a fuel valve under pressure can be determined by Hooke's Law. For a closed valve, stress (σ) is F/A, where F is the force exerted by the pressure and A is the cross-sectional area of the valve. For an open valve, stress may be reduced due to the larger area over which the force is distributed.
