It can be produced artificially by the distillation of crude oil or naturally from tar seeps and lakes.nnBitumen (or pitch) is a dark, sticky substance found in nature, such as in asphalt deposits, and has similar properties to asphalt. Bitumens are used for waterproofing, road construction, and roofing.
