A Scrambler is a device used in telecommunications for secure voice communication. It encrypts the audio signal by converting it into an unintelligible form, often referred to as 'scrambled' or 'encrypted speech'. The primary purpose of a scrambler is to protect against eavesdropping. Operationally, the scrambler works by shifting the phase and frequency of the original voice waveform. This shift is unique for each communication pair, ensuring that even if the scrambled signal is intercepted, it cannot be easily understood without the corresponding descrambler.
