HSN (Higher-layer Signaling Number) is a part of the GSM signaling system used to identify mobile stations during call setup and teardown processes. MAIO (Mobile Allocation Identity Code) is a unique identifier for each cell in a GSM network, used to synchronize with the Base Station Subsystem (BSS). MA Group (Measurement Area Group) is a group of measurement areas within a location area that shares the same timing advance value. Frequency hopping is a technique used in wireless communications to reduce interference by periodically changing the frequency of transmission.
