Dear sir, my knowledge about cable size determination is limited. Though I read examples I could not calculate the Cable size required for electric driven pump 40 KW, 380 Volt, 50 HZ, 50 meter from transformer and it is three phase star delta starting. Please help as there is no one in my surroundings to help.

To determine the cable size for an electric driven pump with the given specifications:
1. Calculate the current (I) using the formula: I = P / (V * Power Factor), where P is power in watts, V is voltage, and Power Factor is typically 0.8 for a motor.
2. Find the current-carrying capacity of the cable (A) using Ampacity tables or calculations based on the American Wire Gauge (AWG) or International Annealed Copper Standard (IACS).
3. Choose a cable with an Ampacity greater than or equal to the calculated current.
4. Consider the voltage drop and insulation requirements for three-phase, star-delta starting applications before making a final selection.
