The effective resistance of a transmission line, which includes both the wire resistance and the line losses, should typically be greater than the static (or DC) resistance. This is because in an AC system, the current-carrying capacity of the wires is reduced due to the skin effect and proximity effect, leading to increased resistance compared to the static resistance.
