To measure the eccentricity of a turbine rotor during operation, you can use non-contact methods such as laser or eddy current sensors. Here's how:
1. Install the chosen sensor at a suitable location on the turbine casing, focusing on the area opposite the rotor shaft.
2. Synchronize the data collection with the turbine rotation speed to ensure accurate measurements.
3. Record the displacement data of the rotor from multiple positions around the circumference.
4. Calculate the orthogonal distances between the rotor's centroid and the axis of rotation at each position using trigonometry (x, y).
5. Determine the maximum eccentricity by finding the maximum distance between the centroids and the axis:
Eccentricity = Max(sqrt(x^2 + y^2))
