Overmolding refers to a process where two or more different materials are combined into a single part during the molding process. This is done by injecting or transferring one material into a mold that already contains another material. On the other hand, insert molding involves the use of pre-formed parts (inserts) that are placed into the mold before the main material is injected.nnFor example, overmolding could be used to create a soft grip on a hard plastic handle, while insert molding might be used to add a metal screw or bolt to a plastic part.
