What causes turbocharger surging?

Answer Posted / Chandan Kumar Paswan

Turbocharger surging is typically caused by an imbalance between the exhaust gas pressure and the intake air pressure. Factors such as throttle fluctuations, misfiring engine cylinders, or a malfunctioning wastegate can contribute to this instability. As a result, the turbocharger's speed fluctuates rapidly, causing erratic boost pressure and power output in the engine.
