A Labor and Material Payment Bond (LMPB) or Construction Payment Bond guarantees that a contractor will pay subcontractors, laborers, and material suppliers for their work on a construction project even if the contractor defaults. It's designed to ensure that these parties receive payment despite the contractor's insolvency.
