Explain severity with example and expalin each example?
Answer Posted / Vijay Krishna Pandey
In the context of software testing, severity is used to classify defects based on their impact. Here are two examples:
1. Severity 1 (Critical): A system failure that causes an application to crash or a feature to become completely unusable. For example, a bug that prevents users from logging in to the system would be classified as a severity 1 issue.
2. Severity 2 (Major): A defect that significantly impairs the functionality of an application but does not cause a complete system failure. An example could be a feature that works intermittently or a user interface element that is difficult to use. These issues can impact user experience and productivity.
