A train can travel 50% faster than a car. Both start from point A at the same time and reach point B 75 kms away from A at the same time. On the way, however, the train lost about 12.5 minutes while stopping at the stations. The speed of the car is

To solve this problem, let's assume the car's speed is C and the train's speed is T (T being 50% faster than C). Since they both reach point B at the same time and the train lost 12.5 minutes due to stops, their travel times are equal:
Time_C + (Time_T * 0.2) = Distance / Speed_C = 75 km / C
Solving for C:
C^2 = (75 km * C) / (1 - 0.2)
C = sqrt((75 km * C) / (1 - 0.2))
C^2 = 375 km / 0.8
C = sqrt(468.75 km²)
Approximate speed of the car: C = 21.7 m/s or about 78.6 km/h
