As a person with almost 35 years of Kitchen Experience both in Branded Hotels in India and in leading Cruise lines in USA and Europe I want to give an Anwari . I felt that your question is about Why people like to work in a Hotel Kitchen/?Galley and not Gallery.
I am a chef Instructor with Culinary Academy of India and I train people for different positions in the Galley for different companies from past one decade. Before going to the specific answer I would like you to know the basic difference between a Kitchen and a Galley. First a Kitchen refers to a more traditional room in a house or commercial establishment dedicated to food preparation and cooking, typically featuring a more open layout, in contrast a galley is a long, narrow kitchen layout where appliances and cabinets are aligned along parallel walls to maximize efficiency in small spaces. It is commonly found on ships, airplanes, and in rarely some residential settings. Then coming to liking to work in a kitchen- Working in a hotel kitchen offers a dynamic and fast-paced environment that constantly challenges and inspires people involved in cooking. The collaborative nature of the kitchen fosters a sense of teamwork and camaraderie among chefs and staff, creating a vibrant and supportive work culture. The opportunity to work with diverse ingredients, experiment with different cuisines, and create innovative dishes allows people to continuously expand their culinary knowledge and skills. Additionally, the satisfaction of seeing guests enjoy the meals prepared and receiving their positive feedback fuels the passion for cooking. In a hotel kitchen, every day brings new experiences and opportunities for growth, making it a place where creativity thrives and where people can truly pursue their culinary aspirations.
