What is LMU and LMDU. in PLCC communication of 132 kv transmission line. is it possible to use only one LMU with out LMDU ?
Answer Posted / srikanth t
LMU stands for Line Matching Unit used in Power Line Communication (PLC), LMU & LMDU used as Coupling Devices. If the coupling is Phase-Phase it requires LMU & LMDU. If the coupling is Phase-Ground LMU is enough for Power Line Communication.

a)In a 3-phase 4-wire circuit, a circuit breaker is selected to protect the circuit whose highest fault level is 6.6 MVA. Determine the required minimum breaking capacity in kA. (Note: Covert 3-phase power in terms of kA to find answer.) b)Using the below, determine the required minimum making capacity in kA as a “peak value”. An ISP is granted a block of addresses starting with 150.80.0.0/16. The ISP wants to distribute these blocks to 2600 customers as follows. a) 200 medium size businesses; each needs 16 addresses b) 400 small businesses; each needs 8 addresses c) 2000 households; each needs 4 addresses Design the subblocks and give the slash notation for each subblock. Find out how many addresses are still available after these allocations.
For a 6.6kV Motor it is recommended to do megger test with 500 V d.c and not more than 5kV d.c but the Hi voltage withstand test should be performed by 12kV AC. Why the dc voltage test should be limited but AC voltage withstand test could be with such a high voltage?
