1 hp is equal to .93 kva since 1 kva is 800 watt and 1 hp is 746 watt considering the power factor .8 generally the power factor considered is 0.8 what the actual kva required are 1.62 kva for 1 hp since starting current needs to be considered for in case of motor during initial torque the motor get connected in star winding during star conection motor draw √3 times more current than full load current
