1 Kva = How many HP

Answer Posted / raybuilders

kVA*pf*1000/746=HP
1hp=746watts
Pf means power factor, it simply mean how efficiently the device uses electricity.for motors-the industry standard is 60% while for other devices it is 80%.
Assuming it's not a motor and the kVA is 1
kVA*pf*1000=1*0.8*1000/746=1.1hp

If is a motor, hence.
1*0.6*1000/746=0.8hp
