Reinforced concrete deep beams are the structural elements that transfers the heavy gravity loads predominantly through shearing action to their supports. A beam having much greater depth than that of a normal beep in relation to its span, while the thickness in the perpendicular direction is much smaller than both span and depth, is usually termed as a deep beam.
