what is the difference between core & shell type
transformer ?& where we use those transformers ?
Answer Posted / sandeep mukherjee
In core type xmer are basically used for high-voltage while shell type is used for low-voltage
And in core type the winding are done in both the limb
But in shell type winding is done in a comman limb which is in the middle of both the limb
In other word we can say that core tpye xmer are surrounded by winding while in shell tpye are surrounded by the core
