Compaction is an artificial process which is done to increase the density of the siol to improve its properties before it is part to any use.

Consolidation is a process which occurs in nature when thee saturated soil depositd or subjected ti static loads caused by weight of buildings and othe structures.

it is possiblee to produce concrete with out cracks...
