how level can be measured in open tank with reference to pressure

The level can be measured using the formula pressure P =SG x height. If it is water in the open tank, then p=h. SG=1. Pressure can be measured using differential pressure transmitter to connected at the bottom of the tank as HP side. Lp side is vent to atmosphere.
