What is the correct position of lapping splice of reinforcement steel bars in a beam at top & bottom of the beam?? what is the reason for this location?..what are the factors affecting lapping location in beam?

Answer Posted / muhammad asif

in case of continuous beams the top bars are lapped the center because the tension at the center at the top of the beam is almost zero and it is in compression while the bottom bars are lapped at the support because tension is at the top at support.
